Film and TV: Reborn as an Extra? I Refuse to Follow the Script!

On his wedding day, Lu Feng was kicked into the worlds of film and television. The System gave him scripts and told him to follow his assigned roles. He refused.

In A Lifelong Journey, he was the dutiful son Zhuang Chaoying, handing his entire monthly salary to his parasitic parents while his wife and children scraped by on coarse corn cakes. The first thing Lu Feng did after taking over was throw all his wages on the table. “From now on, you handle the money.” Then he gave the demanding Zhuang family a piece of his mind, raising Huang Ling’s affection from 20 points to off the charts.

In Under the Zhengyang Gate, he became the conniving villain Cheng Jianjun, and the System told him to trip up the protagonist. Instead, Lu Feng invested his money in legitimate businesses and turned the villain into a pioneer of reform. The protagonist even came over to call him big brother.

In The Tale of Rose, he was Zhou Shihui, a toad of a man. The script told him to cling to the heroine and grovel at her feet. Lu Feng went abroad to make money instead. A few years later, he returned in a sharp suit, and the heroine was the one chasing him.

One world, one role, but no script could ever box him in. “The character in the script is dead, but I’m alive. If I don’t like the plot, I’ll rewrite it.”
