Siheyuan: A Spatial Warehouse and Xie Kuang's Battle of Wits Against the Whole Courtyard

Yan Jiekang opened his eyes and found himself reborn as the third son of the Yan family in a Beijing courtyard house, just born. He had been an orphan in his previous life. This time, he had a stingy father and a loving mother, plus a photographic memory, a pocket dimension warehouse, and a body that could mutate, though he still had no idea what that last ability was.

He soon realized there wasn't a single decent person in this courtyard. Jia Zhangshi had her eye on his family's house. Yi Zhonghai acted fair in public but played favorites behind closed doors. Silly Zhu swaggered around every day, while Qin Huairu had learned to play the poor victim and leech off others at a young age. Even his own father, Yan Bugui, was a miser who schemed down to the bone.

Others fought the courtyard's scoundrels with their fists. Yan Jiekang used his brain. As a baby, he played dumb while secretly stashing food in his pocket dimension. When he grew up, he used his photographic memory to record everyone's secrets in a little notebook. Jia Zhangshi threw a tantrum? He recited the exact amount of relief money she'd embezzled, right in front of everyone. Yi Zhonghai tried to guilt-trip him? He dug up the accounts showing the man had skimmed public funds. Silly Zhu tried to hit him? Yan Jiekang countered with a whole set of military combat moves.

With a pocket dimension at his disposal and intelligence that left everyone else in the dust, how could the courtyard's scoundrels scheme against him? Yan Jiekang smiled faintly. "I've seen all your tricks before, in the TV dramas of my past life. This time, it's my turn to write the script."
