In Heaven: How I Got into KPIs

Li Chang'an, a civil servant who left his job, is reborn as the lowest-ranking Inspector Spirit Official in the Celestial Court. After awakening the Heavenly Laws Search System, he sets out to bring the Three Realms into line with the law. Erlang Shen's dog bites Chang'e's rabbit? Fine him! The Peach Banquet has no emergency plan? Fix it! A whole industry built around immortal mounts descending to the mortal realm to become demons? Investigate it thoroughly! While others cultivate immortality and comprehend the Dao, he leads a group of second-generation immortals in reforming the Celestial Court's bureaucracy. The Thunder Duke and Lightning Mother are summoned for talks over missing their rainfall KPIs, while the Matchmaker is suspended for making unauthorized matches. Even the Jade Emperor privately sends him a message: "Beloved subject Li, just investigate a little. Don't investigate everything..." Li Chang'an replies, "I'm afraid I can't, Your Majesty. Before the Heavenly Laws, everyone is equal."
