The Nine-Linked Case

The third year of Jingyou under Emperor Renzong, late spring.

Nine murders take place in Weiyu County within a single month. Xiao Tieyong, the county constable, is the first to lead men into the investigation, but fails to solve the case. The county magistrate hurriedly submits a report to his superiors, who send their constable, Lin Xiaoqing, to Weiyu County to crack the case. On the way, Lin is ambushed, poisoned, and targeted for assassination. Though the attacks are impossible to guard against, Lin ultimately reaches Weiyu County and joins Xiao Tieyong in solving the case. They uncover that these are not nine unrelated murders, but a series of schemes directed by someone against Su Wenqing, the county's new magistrate.
