Siheyuan: In the Fiery Years, I Start by Lying Flat

After transmigrating into the world of "The Best of the Courtyard", everyone else is going all out, fighting the worst people and scrambling for opportunities, hoping to make something of themselves. Huang An just wants to lie flat and be a lazy fish.

Luckily, he has a knack for making pastries, and lands a job as a pastry chef at a food shop. The work is easy and there’s little to do. On top of that, he has a portable space where he can stash private snacks, so life couldn’t be more comfortable.

Every day after work, he takes sweet pastries from his space, sits at the entrance to the courtyard, snacks on sunflower seeds, and sips tea as he watches his neighbors take turns putting on a grand show of domestic drama. The nasty characters fight among themselves and scheme against one another, but none of it has anything to do with him.

Keeping to his own little life and enjoying his days at leisure is Huang An’s greatest ambition.
