Siheyuan: Turning My Life Around and Getting Yi Zhonghai in Line

Reborn in 1958 in a Beijing courtyard, Yuan Weidong becomes an apprentice in the kitchen. The King of Hell compensates him with a Spirit Pearl space and three talents. With Tai Chi martial arts at his side, he grows crops and raises livestock in his space, living better than anyone else.

But there isn't a single easygoing person in this courtyard. Third Uncle sits by the door scheming every day, Silly Zhu throws punches at the slightest disagreement, and Yi Zhonghai talks endlessly about righteousness while secretly plotting for someone to support him in his old age. Borrow grain today, borrow money tomorrow, then hold a courtyard meeting the day after to guilt-trip everyone? Yuan Weidong won't yield, no matter whether they try sweet talk or force.

During the three years of famine, the whole courtyard is starving and wild-eyed, but he still eats and drinks well. Jia Zhangshi throws a tantrum? He ignores her. Qin Huairu plays the victim? He won't bite. Xu Damao tries to sabotage him? He slaps him right back. Yi Zhonghai wants to keep him as a backup plan for old age? No chance.

From being schemed against to becoming someone the entire courtyard is afraid to provoke, Yuan Weidong proves with his strength that being reborn isn't about fighting with beasts. It's about making sure they don't even qualify to fight him.
