Fishing for Goddesses by West Lake

Others fish for the catch. Xie Yan fishes for romance and beauty in this world.

After retiring from city life, he finds a secluded courtyard house by West Lake. White walls and dark tiles hold the misty charm of Jiangnan, and a push of the gate reveals an endless expanse of blue water. From then on, Xie Yan becomes a laid-back angler. With a rod and a stool, he sits quietly by the lake, caring nothing for worldly affairs, waiting for the breeze, for a fish to leap, and for the destined women to cross his path one by one.

A cool, independent, and talented woman paints by the lake, drawn to his unruffled manner. A lively, charming young woman accidentally bumps his fishing float, sparking a sweet romance. A gentle and demure woman from Jiangnan brings him homemade tea snacks, adding warmth to his fishing hours. A bright and spirited beauty comes seeking him out, eager to take in the scenery by his side. And a sweet, soft-spoken girl from next door is always at his side, bringing a touch of everyday warmth.

There are no cutthroat business battles or melodramatic feuds. With the lake as his matchmaker and fishing as his bond, Xie Yan turns ordinary days into poetry in his courtyard house beneath the gray-tiled roof and white walls, amid the morning and evening breezes of West Lake. One cast brings in the lake's beauty, and half a cup of tea accompanies a lovely woman. See how this laid-back angler, in the gentle lands of Jiangnan, finds a garden in full bloom and wins countless hearts.
