A Life Measured by Performance

When I woke up, I found that the whole world had become my "office."

And I was its only intern.

A brand burned into my mind, called the Life Performance Contract, while a cold AI voice announced my KPI progress every day:

Work Efficiency: C-

Interpersonal Relations: B

Exploration of Life's Meaning: Not Started

My boss was the embodiment of this city's will, and my coworkers were "elite monsters" wearing human skin.

They smiled and encouraged me: "Keep it up. Once you become a permanent employee, you'll have a 'permanent position' and an 'infinite life.'"

Then, by chance, I opened the "company's" underlying database and saw the deactivation record of the previous "intern," along with a line of tiny text:

Warning: The success rate for becoming a permanent employee in this position is 0%. Final interpretation of this performance system rests with the "Management."

Now, I've decided to stop living just to become a permanent employee.

I'm going to... write a resignation letter to this damn world.
