The Diviner

In the tile-roofed pleasure quarters of Xuanjing City, a saying is often heard: "Better brave the Hall of Yama than cross paths with the Fortune-Telling Immortal."

That saying is about me, Chen Xuan.

I am a diviner, but not one of those street charlatans who set up stalls to tell fortunes. What I glimpse are the true patterns of the Heavenly Dao, the finest threads woven into the loom of fate.

The price is every bit as cruel.
