Siheyuan: He Yuzhu's Cousin Takes the House from the Start

In the autumn of 1963, the chilly morning breeze made people shiver. Quite a few people in Nanluoguxiang were already up. Even though it was the weekend, people in this era were still accustomed to going to bed early and rising early.

"It's just up ahead, right here. As for that house of yours, we'll talk about it after it's cleaned up in a few days. For now, stay at my place. I've got the room sorted out for you, in our courtyard, the one next to your cousin Yushui's."

A man beside him, in his thirties but looking nearly forty, chattered on to He Yufeng.

He Yufeng looked at the slogans on the wall, steeped in the feel of the era, and the rows of single-story houses. He could hardly believe that this was the capital in the 1960s, much less that he'd returned to this era.

He Yuzhu from the Birds-Filling-the-Courtyard compound was actually his cousin, and the unlucky He Yushui was his cousin too. His parents, who were carrying out a secret mission in the great northwest, had sent him back to the capital.
