Myth Beneath the Moonlight

On a spirit-rich mountain, a flying fish, a firebird, and a spirit stone cultivated until they took human form, yet they paid special "attention" to Xiyun. The flying fish blew bubbles to disturb his meditation, the firebird beat its wings and singed the edge of his clothes, and the spirit stone rolled into his path. Though helpless, Xiyun knew they meant no harm and took it all as the playful antics of his mountain companions.

One day, Xiyun found a quiet stone cave and was about to sit down to meditate when the flying fish leapt from the stream, splashing him from head to toe. The firebird brought him wild fruit but deliberately dropped it by his feet, while the spirit stone rolled right up to him with a "rumble" and blocked his way. Xiyun sighed softly and lightly tapped the water with his fingertip, sending out ripples that trapped the flying fish. Then he raised a hand and summoned a cloud to gently cover the firebird, leaving it unable to flap about. Finally, he gave the spirit stone a quiet scolding, and it obediently rolled aside.

Their playful interactions became a familiar sight on the mountain. Though Xiyun was often teased, he also felt a special warmth in all the fun.
