Zhong Kui Starts Over

Zhong Kui: iron-faced and long-bearded, glaring with fierce eyes and standing with sword in hand, he is charged with exorcising evil spirits and catching ghosts to protect the people.

What changes would there be to the story of Zhong Kui if someone with the same name dreamed himself into becoming Zhong Kui?

The Five Ghosts are before him, and his vanguard is full of grievances...

Granted a title in the Heavenly Court, he walks among mortals, capturing ghosts that harm people...

His portrait becomes a guardian deity on the doors of households everywhere. Hanging it wards off evil, and painters who specialize in painting Zhong Kui become famous throughout the land.
