Siheyuan: Reborn in 1960 to Save My Sister-in-Law

Lin Jianye, a modern office drone, dies suddenly while staying up late revising a proposal. When he opens his eyes, he has been reborn in 1960 in a parallel-world courtyard house on the outskirts of Beijing, inhabiting the body of a vocational school student with the same name, the child of a fallen soldier's family.

The original owner lost both parents and, because of a "deathbed wish," married Shen Yixin, who came from a small-business family, only to despise her at every turn. Just after Lin Jianye inherits the memories, he catches his sister-in-law, Shen Yixin, being cornered at her door by thugs demanding repayment. They're even threatening to sell her off to a remote mountain village!

At the critical moment, the System arrives, but immediately "lets him down." Lin Jianye has no choice but to rely on himself. Together with his wife Shen Yixin, he puts up all their savings and, drawing on his vocational school credentials and the confidence of his coming job at Red Star Steel Mill, stands up to the thugs and protects his sister-in-law.

Faced with the constraints of his "revolutionary pedigree," the wary looks of the courtyard's neighbors, and his beautiful wife, whose opinion of him is changing, Lin Jianye resolves to rewrite the original owner's life in the sixties, support his little family, and start a different kind of life in the courtyard house!
