The Vermilion Palace Locks Away the Phoenix

Main Plot Highlights:

Chu Jinghong, a hostage from a fallen kingdom, is sent to the residence of Xiao Wuji, a powerful minister in the enemy nation, and reduced to a caged songbird. Everyone in the household thinks she is a helpless plaything, unaware that she is a vengeful demon raised on a sea of blood and hatred. She disguises herself with a frail appearance and turns the entire inner household into her chessboard, stirring up fights among the concubines and eliminating the hidden threats within the residence, step by step taking control of the household into her own hands. She uses the minister's power to stir up trouble among the noblewomen of the capital and in the whirlpool of court politics, laying the groundwork for her grand undertaking of revenge and restoring her kingdom. When the cold, ruthless minister falls for this untamed "caged songbird," and the hatred of a lost kingdom intertwines with forbidden feelings in the present, Chu Jinghong must not only contend with the gods above, but also battle the demons within her own heart. This is an epic tale of power and intrigue that begins within the confines of the inner household and spreads across the nine provinces of the realm. Watch as the hostage from a fallen kingdom walks on the edge of blades, captures the minister's heart, and forges a path to greatness all her own.
