Journey to the West: After the Lingshan Tribulation

A sequel novel based on the world view of Journey to the West. The story takes place ten years after Xuanzang returned from his Buddhist pilgrimage. The former Buddhist scripture hunter team fell apart. The Three Realms seemed peaceful, but in fact the Lingshan Mountain had been eroded by the remnants of the ancient demon Wutian. Sun Wukong, Jiang Liu, Zhu Xiaojie, and Sha Wujing restarted their journey westward under the guidance of Guanyin Bodhisattva, and their goal changed from "seeking scriptures" to "saving the world." They travel through demonized mountains and rivers and dangerous places, and face their inner obsessions and past sins: Sun Wukong needs to break the shackles of Buddha nature, Jiang Liu needs to awaken to his mission in his previous life, Zhu Xiaojie seeks righteousness in greed, and Sha Wujing uses a glass lamp to purify his resentment. During the journey, the four people went from suspicion to fetters, and broke away from the shackles of their identities as "gods, Buddhas" and "mundane demons". Finally, they used their "original heart" to fight against the nihilistic thoughts of the Wutian ancient demon, revealing the true meaning of "true compassion is to dare to face the darkness; true strength is to guard the original heart".
