Taming a Ghost Bride, Starting at Lanruo Temple

Everyone, people keep asking me how Nie Xiaoqian, the leading female ghost of Lanruo Temple, came to willingly live in a shabby little tower.

You haven't met the man called Dongfang Ye.

When he first arrived, he was just a ghost child Granny had casually fashioned, as weak as a candle flickering in the wind. Then, without changing his expression, he talked the scholar who had come looking for death into running away in just three sentences. Yes, Ning Caichen. He fled Lanruo Temple with his belongings that very night, and that's when I realized something was off about this little ghost.

He dared to stand right in front of Granny and comment that her tree roots "would fetch a good price as root carvings." He even tried to become sworn brothers with Yan Chixia, that stinking Taoist, and establish the "Association for the Peaceful Coexistence and Development of the Three Realms of Humans, Ghosts, and Gods."

Only later did I learn that his world was a terrifying game of chess. He brought back Chu Renmei, who sang Cantonese opera, fished Sadako out of a television, and even brought along Tomie, who couldn't be killed or shaken off... They all became my sisters, too.

What can I say? The man may be crazy, but... he's got a certain appeal!

So stop asking. The tower has great reception, and there are plenty of sisters! My husband is taking us to challenge the many...
