Seeking the Dao in the Mortal World: Starting as an Ant in the Herb Garden

Synopsis

Lu Qingya was nothing more than a lowly herb-garden laborer in his sect when a century-old blood ginseng suddenly mutated, drawing him into a deadly vortex. Using his wits despite his mortal body, he stands up to the inner disciples' abuse and barely survives an explosion in the alchemy hall, only to unexpectedly acquire a Scarlet Flame Vermilion Fruit and a mysterious black stone. When he discovers that the sect is raising "holy fetuses" by using low-ranking disciples as cauldrons, he flees with the mute craftsman Old Wu. They cross a wasteland teeming with demonic beasts and solve the riddle of an inverted Five Elements formation, then stumble upon the bloody truth of an underground altar on a stormy night. The upside-down palace guided by the black stone is within reach, but the enforcement elder's pursuers are closing in. This is a struggle in which mortal ingenuity defies the shackles of the Heavenly Dao, and an awakening journey that exposes the brutal rules of survival in the cultivation world. The so-called path to immortality is nothing more than a bloody road paved with the corpses of one's peers.
