The Thousand-Year Struggle

In this tranquil academy, the protagonist, Lin Hao, sits by the window with the Analects in his hands, reading a chapter. Outside, the pine trees sway in the breeze, and a few birds occasionally dart past, breaking the quiet of the morning. Confucius's concise, forceful words seem to have crossed a thousand years, still stirring waves in Lin Hao's heart.

Lin Hao's father was a renowned Confucian scholar at court, while his mother was a disciple of a local Buddhist master. Raised with strict family values, Lin Hao received a traditional Confucian education under his parents' guidance from an early age. Confucianism prizes benevolence, righteousness, propriety, and wisdom. Whenever Lin Hao reads those words, he feels deep reverence. He firmly believes that only by cultivating himself, putting his family in order, governing the state, and bringing peace to the world can he do his part for his country.
