The Great Ziwei God's Wish Journal

This is a story about helping good people make their wishes come true. At the end of Wencheng Alley, a shop opens only on rainy nights. Its keeper, dressed in a gray silk changshan, tends a tungsten lamp and collects wishes steeped in tears. Su Li, an emergency-room nurse, trades twenty years of her life for the chance to help her boyfriend, who has ALS, stand again. A retired teacher stakes every memory of his life to light a lighthouse guiding a missing student home. Then a wandering artist walks in with a moldy sunflower, seeking to buy back the kindness he pawned to someone else three years ago.

The soul hourglass in the glass jar begins to run backward, and the red threads around the keeper's wrist snap one after another. When the boat that rescues others begins to devour its ferryman, the scales of kindness weigh the depths of human nature behind every altered fate. When the ninth night of rain arrives, Su Li discovers that the handwriting on her boyfriend's medical records is exactly the same as the ink marks on a contract in the ledger...
