Sword in Hand, Seeking the Way of Anima

This work is a companion to Highland Enigma. The central thread begins when Mo Wuwei receives his family's ancestral sword, drawing the attention of the heavens and causing him to transmigrate to Stone City in a bygone dynasty. Stone City is where Mo Xie died all those years ago. To uncover the secret of Mo Xie's murder, Mo Wuwei becomes a disciple of the mysterious Tianzhumen. After learning that Mo Xie was assassinated, he vows to avenge him. But he is gravely wounded, and is rescued by the ruthless assassin Meng Chuge. Though they are not from the same sect, they share an enemy in Tianzhumen, and join forces to carry out a series of revenge plans.

Mo Wuwei comes from a prominent family. His ancestors were border generals, and his family has practiced martial arts for generations. The Mo family's Eighteen Great Techniques once dominated the martial world, bringing Stone City into turmoil.

The heroine, Meng Chuge, is the daughter of Chude and a descendant of the royal guards of Anima. To escape the pursuit of Tang Wuji, a scoundrel of the martial world, she concealed her identity and was raised by Meng Chengzhen, her father's sworn friend. Meng Chengzhen's true identity is the leader of the Wuyoubang, born in the imperial capital, known as the Soul-Shaking Great Saber.
