The Grand Princess Hired a Consort Who Eats People

Tales of the Ming Dynasty.

Official histories, unofficial histories, adaptations, historical romances, transmigration, and more. There is no shortage of them.

The Ming Dynasty had its share of embarrassing and sordid affairs.

And even more outrageous incidents.

The men who ruled the Ming Dynasty, the emperors of the Great Ming, included a gourmet, an emperor obsessed with crickets, an emperor who was a carpenter, and even an emperor who went on strike...

But one of these strike-prone emperors, the Wanli Emperor Zhu Yijun, was especially eccentric.

During the Wanli era, one absurd incident followed another. Things could only get more absurd.

The sixteenth day of the first lunar month, in the twenty-third year of the Wanli reign.

In a warm chamber of the Forbidden City, the Wanli Emperor Zhu Yijun summoned several court officials and issued an imperial decree: Put up notices to recruit a prince consort.

There was only one requirement for the prince consort.
