The Delinquent

During the Western Han Dynasty, Emperor Wu of Han launched two expeditions to seize the Heavenly Horses of Dayuan. During the second expedition, in 102 BC, the Han army recruited large numbers of "wicked youths" to serve in the military. These boys came from humble backgrounds. Some had been street thugs, some had been exiled for crimes, and some were simply orphans abandoned by fate. They were assigned to the army of General Li Guangli and set out on a long, brutal western campaign.

The story follows the life of Wei Ling, from street thug to battlefield hero. Later installments will also cover the eastern campaign against Goguryeo and the southern march into Annam, or Vietnam, completing a trilogy.
