Li Shimin: Grandpa, Let Me Take You to the Top

In the seventeenth year of the Zhenguan era, at the morning court in Chang'an's Daming Palace,

hundreds of ministers stood meekly as the ambitious Emperor Taizong of Tang, Li Shimin, angrily berated Crown Prince Li Chengqian. He had finally had enough of his son. The prince had kept male favorites and killed his tutor and younger brother. Now, with Goguryeo's troops invading the border, Li Chengqian, who had been governing in the emperor's place for years, could not come up with a single solution. What use was a crown prince like that?

"You are the crown prince, yet you can neither ease your father's burdens nor serve your country. You have also turned the entire Eastern Palace into a den of chaos. Today, I will depose..."

At last, Li Shimin found he could not bring himself to voice all the accusations. He trembled with rage. They said a hero's son would be a hero, but this son was worse than a coward, with not a single thing in common with him. He wanted to depose the crown prince immediately. Suddenly, someone stepped out from behind the prince. Who was this kid?

"Hold on. What gives you the right to depose my dad?"

The speaker was Li Xiang, the emperor's eldest grandson, only thirteen years old and a child no one had ever paid any attention to.
