The Qing Dynasty Got a Great Bargain

The Qing Dynasty got an incredible bargain.

The Qing rose in the northeast, weak at first. Nurhaci rose to power, united the tribes, and gradually built up strength.

His successor, Hong Taiji, enacted reforms and strengthened the state, setting his sights on the Central Plains.

But the Ming Dynasty was beset by internal and external troubles, fierce factional strife, growing public resentment, and constant border threats.

Then Li Zicheng captured the capital, and Wu Sangui brought Qing troops through the pass.

The Qing seized the opportunity to enter the Central Plains and contend for the realm. They made good use of strategy and won over the people. With the might of the Eight Banners, they quickly occupied key territories.

Thus the Qing Dynasty took the realm, lucking into a great fortune and beginning its reign.
