Randomly Killing an Emperor: Historical Emperors Are Terrified

Lin Chen downloads a game called Assassinate the Emperor.

Kill the emperor with the lowest rating, and you win a reward.

He thinks it's only a game, but it turns out to connect to ancient times and let him threaten emperors.

Ying Zheng: "I unified the written language, currency, and weights and measures. My achievements shook the heavens. Surely my rating will be the highest!"

Rating from posterity: 0 points

Reason: Failed to unify English, phone charging ports, and streaming subscriptions.

Ying Zheng is stunned: "What is English? What is a phone? And what in the world is a streaming subscription?"

Li Shimin: "I ushered in a golden age and developed the economy. My rating should be in the top three at least!"

Rating from posterity: 0 points

Reason: Failed to rein in the development of poetry, leaving later generations drowning in Tang poems and struggling to memorize them.

Li Shimin: "???"

Liu Bang, Zhu Yuanzhang, Zhu Di, Zhao Gou... One emperor after another faces judgment.

Yet each receives a lower rating than the last.

Zhu Yuanzhang: "Wait. Why is that brat's name on the list of emperors?"

Zhu Di: "Your son... I mean, I don't know either!"

Yongzheng: "Nian Gengyao, take off your armor first. Put on the imperial robes and take my place in death."

Nian Gengyao: "???"
