A small town in the south of the Yangtze River that has disappeared from the map today once had prosperity and pride for nearly a thousand years. Several little people who came out of the town, in the trend of history, either sank, drifted or rose up, interpreting their own life stories. The bitterness and sweetness of life and family conflicts accompany them throughout their lives; the grievances and emotional entanglements of their elders are engraved in every step.
