The Great Qi General Loves to Rule as Regent

Banners flutter and drums and horns resound. The Great Qi sweeps away the surrounding small kingdoms, making the Marquis of Chiyuan, Hu Xiaoyi, a legendary God of War. Great Qi, which favors civil officials over military ones, falls from one abyss into another.

Hu Xiaoyi becomes regent, controlling the feudal lords through the emperor. He is brutal by nature, yet immensely strong, brave, and resourceful. Though no scholar, he uses force to control the imperial court. He takes a princess by force, then kills Emperor Liang Jing and takes his place. With an iron fist, he keeps the Great Qi firmly in his grasp.

The young advisors who swiftly rise to prominence at Hu Xiaoyi's side work tirelessly to govern the realm, and finally slay him three years later.

The road ahead is long. I can only wish you peace. Whether we meet again or not, I will still miss you. I only hope that in this life, you will become my wife in the next. Our bond in this life will carry on into the next.

Looking back on the past, my heart is heavy. I offer you a willow branch as frost and snow drift down. Frost congeals and snow falls: you and I meet in this moment. We ride through the land beneath the palace towers, recalling the past.

Even if we never meet again, the lingering notes will never fade.

Shuanglu, let us meet again in the next life.

Guxue, I only hope we can continue our bond in this life.
