Unfulfilled Wish

In this endless darkness, I can't find any light. I thought that as long as I persisted, hope would come. In this dead darkness, I huddled up, feeling the cold walls around me, as if they were mocking my helplessness. The hope I once pursued is now like dust swept away by the strong wind, leaving no trace behind. Every time I try to capture those ethereal rays of hope, they slip quietly like quicksand from my fingertips, leaving only deeper despair. This novel and its characters are purely fictitious.
