Hong Kong Films: A Son Helping His Father Is Only Natural

Hong Kong in the 1980s was the best era for powerful gangsters, but also the worst era for ordinary people.

Ye Wenjun was reborn into a Hong Kong where cruelty and opportunity went hand in hand, a world that was also a mash-up of countless Hong Kong movies.

His father had lovingly protected him for the first half of his life. Now he would spend the second half holding up the whole world for his father.

Would people say, "Look, that's the son of so-and-so," or, "Look, that's the father of Ye Wenjun, Mr. Ye"?

Would he rise to prominence and live a carefree life, or hide behind his father's name and amount to nothing?
