Later Zhou: Comparing Sons Leaves Chai Rong Green with Envy

In the first year of the Xiande era of the Later Zhou, Chai Rong ascends the throne. A parallel-world comparison sky screen descends, showing two utterly different lives of Chai Zongxun.

Chai Rong gazes at the Chai Zongxun on the sky screen, whose achievements surpass even those of Qin Shi Huang and Emperor Wu of Han. Revered by the common people and worshipped by foreign tribes, he is hailed as an emperor for the ages.

Then Chai Rong looks at the Chai Zongxun in Empress Fu's arms beside him, forced to abdicate after a coup. He starts wondering if he can switch him for the son on the sky screen right away.

Zhao Kuangyin watches the sky screen on the left. He and Zhao Pu rebel against Later Zhou, only for him to end up losing his power to his younger brother.

Then he looks at the sky screen on the right, where the Martial Emperor Chai Zongxun appoints him Deputy Marshal of All Armies and Grand Marshal of the Campaign Against Europe. After Zhao Kuangyin dies a natural death, Chai Zongxun personally posthumously enfeoffs him as the "King of Shendu" and enshrines him in the Temple of Martial Honor.

The same thought rises in his heart: could he go and serve the Martial Emperor Chai Zongxun instead?

Han Tong, Wang Huan, and the others watch the Martial Emperor Chai Zongxun, who gives them a chance to put their talents to use and brings their careers to a fitting end.

The same thought occurs to them: they want to follow an emperor who will be remembered for all time!

Only Zhao Kuangyi is left questioning himself: Was I really wrong to rebel with my elder brother?
