Three Kingdoms: Dong Zhuo Is a Nobody Compared to Me

At the end of the Eastern Han dynasty, Emperor Liu Hong imposed a ban on political factions. Many officials who had formed factions were dismissed and confined to their hometowns, forbidden from serving as officials.

He also placed the eunuchs in positions of power, inventing all sorts of excuses to sell official posts and titles, raising vast sums of money to fund Liu Hong's indulgences.

Then a natural disaster struck the Han Empire.

Under the blazing sun, crop yields fell.

Many people's fields produced nothing at all.

The officials who had bought their posts not only refused to open the granaries and distribute grain, but also extorted and plundered the people.

They bled dry those who were already suffering beyond endurance.

Vast numbers of people became the servants of others just to stay alive.

For a time, countless appalling horrors unfolded across the land of China.

The peaceful days of the past were gone for good. The people lived in misery, as if in a living hell...
