A Century of Esports: I Tell Legendary Stories That Astonish Future Generations

A century has passed since the 2005 Warcraft championship, when the Human Emperor ushered in the era of Chinese esports.

Li Ping'an, born in 1995, is now 110 years old. Having lived through three centuries, he has grown frail with age.

While streamer Li Nannan was helping her great-grandpa sort through some old belongings, she found a worn ticket to an esports tournament.

"Grandpa, who is this person called Oliveira? Why did he have only a 0.37% chance of winning? And is StarCraft the name of a game?"

Li Nannan's questions took Li Ping'an back to Katowice that year, reminding him of the legendary Chinese StarCraft champion.

"Him? He was a wild man."

"A wild man? Why was he called that?" Li Nannan was fascinated by what had happened back then, and pestered Li Ping'an to tell her more.

The information crisis from decades ago had wiped all the videos of those matches from the internet.

Unable to resist the persistent little girl, Li Ping'an told her and the viewers in her livestream about the esports legends of his youth.

"Oh my god, these legends were Grandpa Li Ping'an's youth!"
