Beneath the Evening Rain

A high school student is brutally murdered on a rainy night, and all the evidence points to a fellow student he had relentlessly bullied. The story unfolds along three intersecting threads: teachers, students, and the police. A meticulous investigation winds through a small city in autumn, yet can never reach the heart of the case. A cruel, restrained revenge lies buried beneath the unceasing rain. Just as the suspect confesses to the entire crime, with physical evidence, testimony, and a complete chain of proof, and is about to be formally indicted, the case takes a sudden turn. Beneath the protagonist's plain, cowardly facade lies a turbulent and repressive adolescence. This novel reveals the social problems of the millennium era and offers a glimpse of the many changes brought by the times.
