Village Official: My Fate Is Mine to Decide

I'm a recent college graduate.

Today, after taking the civil service exam, I walked out of the exam hall.

That's when I ran into an old fortune-teller who kept grabbing my hand.

He was eager to tell my fortune.

I was in a good mood, so I stayed there for half an hour.

The old fortune-teller said that one of my ancestors had been a prime minister, and that my own career in government would flourish until I reached the pinnacle of success.

I was just about to hear more when a classmate pulled me away.

As I left, the old man told me not to forget: at three in the afternoon three days from now,

I should go wait for someone at Mi Ji General Store in town. My benefactor would show up right on time.
