Great Ming: Master of Every Trade, Yet I Refuse to Work for Old Zhu

Synopsis: Zhao Lang transmigrates to the Ming Dynasty.

Only to discover that it's the Hongwu era!

Thinking of how the old Zhu kills officials in droves and how pitifully low their salaries are...

He decides not to serve the old Zhu as an official, and instead to live as a carefree idler.

As it happens, Heaven rewards him with:

Heaven-defying comprehension.

You observe the sand on the ground, suddenly understand, and make glass.

You carefully study the three-barreled fire lance, suddenly understand, and invent the Maxim gun.

You observe the Japanese pirates' small ships, suddenly understand, and invent a ten-thousand-ton warship.

Dissatisfied with the power and range of cannons, you suddenly understand and invent a rocket launcher.

A few years later.

Zhao Lang defeats the Japanese pirates and, while he's at it, collects a little compensation for his trouble.

He sails to Heizhou, sets up a large estate, and grows grain, cotton, and other crops to make a living.

When officials question him...

Zhao Lang waves a hand. "I invented all this stuff just for fun."

Old Zhu: "I don't believe you! You're definitely still hiding things. Come serve as an official for me, and I'll make you a prince and prime minister!"
