Night Stars Like Fog

What is the Earth's most important resource? Coal? Oil? Geothermal? Wind energy? Potential energy? Nuclear energy? None of this is right and doesn't qualify as a top five contender. The well-deserved first place is "Star", followed closely by the earth's core and human beings. As for the remaining two, I was hasty and didn't think carefully... Let me state in advance that this book has no protagonist and no central idea. The word "science fiction" probably only fits one of them. I still haven't decided which one specifically! This novel and its characters are purely fictitious. Any similarity is purely coincidental and should not be imitated.
