A Chinese literature PhD from the twenty-first century transmigrates to the Great Qian, discovering that it is an era much like the Song Dynasty. He also realizes that his life closely resembles a novel. Here, he is a country boy from a poor family, physically frail, whose parents have both died and whose elder sister has been married off as a concubine. How will he rise step by step through the imperial examinations, build wealth for his family, stand up for his sister, and become a pillar of the dynasty?
