Spring and Autumn at Jixia

Jiang Chengzi: Asking About Sorrow

The bright moon in the mirror reflects over the Longfeng Pavilion. At the banquet in Xuanxuan Tower, I laugh at the east wind. Suddenly, I remember waking from a dream and walking alone toward the turning seasons. Drunk, I rise and draw back the curtains to drink in the misty rain. My temples turn white with grief, weary of this life, with a pipa, a bodhi tree, and a dying lamp.

A Night of Sighs

As a child, I never sighed when I looked up at the moon. ? Now I recall its fading light and pour out my heart.

? Alone, I drink by the jade, quietly getting drunk. ? Why bother with the wind through the pavilion and the clinking of cups?
