Great Ming: You Asked Me to Rule in Your Stead, So I Turned Everything Upside Down

In the twenty-fifth year of Hongwu, Crown Prince Zhu Biao died of illness.

Devastated, Zhu Yuanzhang planned to return to his hometown of Fengyang to rest and recover.

Before leaving, after weighing all sides, he chose his tenth son, Zhu Heng, to act as regent.

Who could have known that after taking office, Zhu Heng would launch sweeping reforms that shook the entire court?

Economy: He first overhauled the land system, reclaiming land from the powerful and wealthy and introducing a system of private plots. He also vigorously developed commerce and allowed the sex trade to flourish.

Technology: He focused on developing the use of gunpowder, producing pistols, artillery carts, warships, and more, greatly strengthening the military power of the Great Ming.

Politics: He restored the chancellor system and drastically reduced the power of the vassal princes.

Zhu Yuanzhang: "I told you to act as regent, and you turned everything upside down?"

Despite the fierce resistance to these reforms, the Great Ming became stronger than ever before.

It destroyed Northern Yuan, conquered Goguryeo, wiped out the Japanese pirates, contended for supremacy in East Asia, and unified the Eurasian continent.
