The Little Girl and Her Cat

1. Cat

I got a cat.

I wasn't supposed to have a cat, but Mom and Dad didn't want me anymore, so they sent me back to the countryside.

Later, I went to live with Grandpa and Grandma in the countryside, but on the very night I arrived, they didn't want me either. They said Dad had a newborn son, and they had to go take care of him.

I don't understand. Maybe I'm not very lovable? Mom always scolds me for being a daughter who costs the family money.

I just wait for them in the courtyard, where a pear tree grows and the mountain rises behind it.

At first, I knew I was waiting for Grandpa and Grandma. Later, I thought I was waiting for Mom and Dad.
