Siheyuan: Coming Down the Mountain at Max Level, Starting as an Instructor

Chen Youwei transmigrated to a courtyard compound in 1962. With no System to help him, every day felt like a year. By a stroke of luck, he went to Jiming Temple, ten thousand and eight hundred li away, to become a disciple of Master Putao. He received the Buddhist name Donglai, opened his Heavenly Eye, and completed his cultivation. He was then invited down from the mountain to serve as an ideological instructor at a steel mill.

He still lived in the same courtyard compound full of wicked neighbors, but this time Donglai was no longer the timid young man he once was. Every day, he simply struck the wooden fish, chanted sutras, and taught lessons.

The five o'clock morning bell and sutras were more than Bang Geng could stand, so he stole the wooden fish.

Donglai had no choice but to open his Heavenly Eye and strike Bang Geng with the wooden mallet. One blow, and Bang Geng reflected on his actions. Two blows, and Bang Geng repented. Three blows, and Bang Geng turned himself in.

Then there were Jia Zhangshi, Yan Bugui, Yi Zhonghai, and Deaf Granny.

Beneath the Heavenly Eye, none were innocent. All living things were as insignificant as ants. Alas, how tragic.

Donglai, too, had a tribulation to resolve after coming down from the mountain: he had a romantic debt to repay.
