A girl named Qiyue has a very happy first half of her life and an unbearably tragic second half. Her life lasts only 22 years, and her experiences are heartbreaking. Every main character dies by the end of the story, with Qiyue the last to go. She dies by suicide. Everyone who treated her well is gone. The entire story is oppressive in tone, yet rich in ideas, and full of unexpected events. Most of it describes the inner thoughts of the heroine, Qiyue, and what she goes through.
