The settings in this book are half-truths and half-false, and are for entertainment purposes only. The protagonist Ye Youran is a slash young man with interests in music, film and television, business, and physics. Her grandfather is Ye Zeming, the founding marshal of the People's Republic of China, and her grandmother is Shangguan Qi. There are eight major families in the capital and four major ancient clans with complex surnames. The Ye family has a long history and has been a prominent family since the Republic of China. Grandpa has three sons. The eldest, Ye Minghao, is the commander of the Navy. One daughter is named Sister Ye Tong'er. The eldest son is Ye Youran's father, Ye Mingwei, the chairman of Chenghua Group. The only son is Ye Youran. The third son, Ye Mingling, has a hot temper and is the chief of staff of the Chengdu Military Region. The other daughter is named Ye Xin. The story begins when Ye Youran went to the United States alone at the age of fourteen. This novel and its characters are purely fictitious. Any similarity is purely coincidental and should not be imitated.
