Great Qin: The Mohist Way of Righteousness Begins with Mechanisms

Mencius said, "In the world, people either follow Yang or follow Mo," said Duke Wen of Teng. That is why, before the Qin dynasty, people said that one either followed Daoism or Mohism. But why did the once-mighty Mohist school suddenly disappear?

"The knight-errant uses force to break the law." A ** body with a tight-knit organization and control over technology was naturally unacceptable to rulers.

The Mohist principles of "universal love and opposition to aggression" sound much like the ideals of the "human *****" from a thousand years ago.

They proposed the theory of limits in science, that force is the cause of motion, a simple view of space and time, the pinhole camera, geometry, the lever principle, and many other theories, leaving a striking mark on human history.

Such a ** group, upholding the chivalrous ideal of "the world is white, and I alone am black," would rather take what is right than seek what is crooked. They put their democratic ideals into practice with their lives and left behind the last glorious legacy of knights-errant at the end of the Qin dynasty. They deserved to be called "Mohist knights."
