Tales from the End of the Qin Dynasty: Miscellaneous Learning Rules the World

Before Qin Shi Huang died, three supernatural events occurred: the Red Comet guarded the Heart constellation, a meteor fell from the sky, and a jade disc was recovered from the river. Was someone behind this chain of strange events?

Why did Huang Shigong choose to pass his Book of Heaven to Zhang Liang?

Why did Fan Zeng, a strategist of the School of Military Thought, choose to support Xiang Yu?

It seems that an invisible hand was pushing history forward all along.

Fan Gui of the School of Eclecticism pays his respects.

The School of Eclecticism, one of the Nine Schools, "gathers the best of Confucianism and Mohism, and distills the essentials of the School of Names and Legalism."

The hundred schools each have their own arguments, but one statement can encompass them all, albeit with some bias.

Learning from the strengths of all schools and embracing them all, sharing similarities yet retaining differences: that is the School of Eclecticism.

Though the works of Shi Zi and the Lüshi Chunqiu are few, they still live up to the claim that they "have mastered every path among the hundred schools."

The chapter "Using the Many" also states: "A ruler's position comes from the people. If he establishes himself and then abandons the people, he gains the branch but loses the root."

Fan Gui's ambition is simply to govern the world through eclectic learning: "May all under heaven belong to China, and may the whole world bow in submission."
