Searching the Wastes

The Dao Ancestor carved the world from chaos, absorbing the primordial wasteland energy. The energy vanished, and spiritual energy arose. From the first spirits came four children, who called the wasteland their father and spiritual energy their mother. But the wasteland's lifespan was finite. The four children fought over the Dao, scattering spiritual energy throughout the world, and so cultivation began. Yet the traces of the wasteland did not disappear. Spiritual energy began to show signs of withering, and a divine prophecy foretold: if no one attains the Dao Ancestor's path within a hundred years of spiritual energy's decline, Heaven and Earth will return to chaos, and the wasteland will appear once more...
