Great Tang: The Li Family's Twin Sons Exposed by the Empress

In the first year of the Zhenguan era, Li Yu transmigrates to the Tang Dynasty and becomes the twin younger brother of Li Chengqian, the legitimate eldest son of the Li family. He is one of the Li family's twin boys.

That year, to ensure a smooth succession to the throne, Li Shimin follows the old custom that one of every pair of royal twins must die. He immediately orders Li Yu's execution, then names Li Chengqian crown prince in October of the same year.

In the fourth year of the Zhenguan era, in the home of an ordinary family outside Chang'an.

Empress Zhangsun gazes at Li Yu before her, her face full of grief. "Young man, do you have parents?"

"Maybe. I'm just an abandoned orphan."

Empress Zhangsun holds back her tears. "Do you remember what happened when you were eight?"

Li Yu's gaze turns distant. "I've almost forgotten. I only vaguely remember that year, when my father threw me off a cliff..."

"That year, my ribs were shattered beneath the cliff, my body covered in blood and wounds. I wished I were dead!"

"If I ever see him again, I'll ask why he could be so cruel to me!"

"I'll make him... suffer the pain I suffered back then!"

"I will... return that pain to him a hundred, a thousand times over!"
