Great Ming: The Rebellious Son of the Zhu Family Refuses the Imperial Edict From the Start!

In the eleventh year of Hongwu, on the day the princes are sent to their fiefs,

Prince Qin Zhu Shuang publicly points out the dangers of enfeoffing the princes, infuriating Zhu Yuanzhang.

Thanks to Empress Ma's plea, he escapes execution, but is instead demoted to Prince of Yue and sent to the impoverished Xiamen Island as his fief. …

In the fifteenth year of Hongwu,

After four years of effort, Xiamen Island has been transformed beyond recognition in every respect, from public order to industry and finances.

The people live in peace and prosperity, and every citizen is a soldier!

When Empress Ma falls seriously ill, she begs Zhu Yuanzhang to summon Zhu Shuang back. Softening, Zhu Yuanzhang agrees.

But the envoy carrying the imperial decree is stopped by the guards at Xiamen because he is armed.

"His Highness has ordered that everyone entering the city, whoever they may be, must leave their weapons behind!"

When Zhu Yuanzhang hears of this, he flies into a rage. "You rebellious son! You dare defy an imperial decree, and still claim you haven't rebelled?"
