Kuroko's Basketball: Kaijo's Genius First-Year

After the Original Story

Fujiwara Nozomi is a student at Teiko Middle School. He excels academically and is skilled in everything from music and chess to calligraphy and painting. In short, he's the kind of kid every parent wishes they had. Afterward, he earns a recommendation to Kaijo High School, home to one of the Generation of Miracles, Kise Ryota. Fujiwara Nozomi originally planned to finish studying all the material for high school and college during his high school years. But when he got to high school, he learned that everyone had to join a club. At the time, though, he was so absorbed in his books that he asked Sato Bonten, a new friend, to sign him up for any club. Who could have guessed that Sato Bonten was a basketball fanatic? He promptly signed Fujiwara Nozomi up for the basketball team, leaving him no choice but to join. There, Nozomi displayed his natural feel for the ball, his three-point shooting, and his astonishing ability to learn and imitate. He also met Kise Ryota, and the two became a golden duo. Later, he got to know the other members of the Generation of Miracles, as well as top basketball players from various schools. Eventually, he was selected for the Japanese national team and forged a legend of his own.
