You Sued Me Over One Extra Piece of Gauze? See You in Court

A minor appendectomy used ten bundles of gauze, required a twenty-centimeter incision, and cost 80,000 yuan. A trending topic questioning whether the doctor had taken medical kickbacks spread across the entire internet.

Su Tian, the doctor who signed off on the operation, became a disgrace to the medical profession, suffering online abuse and universal condemnation.

His colleagues went even further, slandering him all over the internet. Taking kickbacks on the gauze was already beyond outrageous, and making a twenty-centimeter incision with modern technology was practically murder. He had to be taken to court.

But when the trial began, Su Tian presented the surgical footage as evidence, one video after another.

"Yes, it was an appendectomy, but he'd waited too long and was no longer a candidate for minimally invasive surgery. We had to clean out the abdominal cavity."

"Yes, the incision was twenty centimeters, but that was because sixty percent of his intestines were necrotic, so we used five bundles of gauze to clean him up."
